Historic City of Ayutthaya | Thailand

Postcard
Ayutthaya was a Siamese kingdom, founded in 1350. The second Siamese capital after Sukhothai. It was the capital of the country until its destruction by the Burmese army in 1767. Its remains, characterized by the prang (reliquary towers) and gigantic monasteries, give an idea of its past splendour.

The Wat Mahathat or Temple of the Great Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Ayutthaya.

Thx SL!
