The Castle of the Teutonic Order in the Polish
city of Malbork is one of the largest castle in the world by surface area,
and the largest brick building in Europe.
The castle is a classic example of a
medieval fortress. It was built in Prussia by the Teutonic Knights, a German Roman
Catholic religious order of crusaders. At the conclusion of WWII, the
city of Marienburg (Malbork) and castle became (again) a part of Poland.
Malbork Castle is a World Heritage Site.

It is one of the nicest landmark in Northern Poland. My home is only 20 km far from Malbork but, what is hard to believe, I've visited the castle only once in my entire life. The castle is located on the Nogat bank and it looks amazing in spring and summer. The is a railway track on a bridge over the river and it's looks really great from there, love watching it from a train :)
